Eu recebi da autora o ARC dessa história após ter participado do Book Tour do livro Breaking Danger e fiquei contente em ter em mãos a chance de ler mais um livro de Lisa Marie Rice e da minha série favorita.

E quando Vânia do blog A Borboleta que Lê entrou em contato para um novo Book Tour eu topei na hora.

Felicity Ward chega a Portland e está vivendo intensamente logo que chega ao aeroporto. Por muito tempo ela viveu fugindo e agora vê a chance de aproveitar um pouco da vida. As vitrines com seus artigos e cores a encantam... mas um sotaque russo e uma faca em suas costas faz tudo desmoronar. Ela precisa fugir novamente. Mas para onde?

Para Felicity a única solução é ir para a casa de Lauren (heroína do livro Midnight Vengeance). Lá ela encontra ajuda da sua amiga, mas também de Sean “Metal” O’Brien.

Metal é parceiro de Jacko (heroí do livro Midnight Vengeance) e também trabalha na Alpha Security Internacional (que pertence a John – Midnight Man e Douglas – Midnight Angel). O seu apelido vem do fato que depois de anos sendo SEAL (e também médico) em seu corpo há praticamente mais metal que ossos.

Quando uma bela mulher, literalmente, cai em seus braços ele sente surgir um instinto protetor tão intenso que ele só quer saber de cuidar dela, mantê-la a salvo e descobrir porque de quererem sequestrá-la.

Felicity (que já foi Alina Darin e Karyn Valk) é uma expert em computadores e programas e está inserida no programa de proteção a testemunhas, seus pais (um físico e uma bioquímica) fugiram da então União Soviética, mas eles levaram para os Estados Unidos um segredo, uma poderosa arma nuclear.

Durante toda a sua vida ela fugiu da KGB (a polícia secreta russa) e pensava que o pesadelo tinha acabado, mas ela não sabe que Vladimir Borodin (ex-coronel da KGB e hoje um grande industrial) tem outros planos e para isso precisa encontrá-la.

Enquanto tentam descobrir quem está querendo sequestra-la Felicity e Metal estão se descobrindo. Os dois têm histórias familiares difíceis, Metal perdeu o pai e quatro irmãos  (no 11 de setembro de 2001) e a mãe pouco tempo depois, junte a isso a  vida de SEAL para sabermos que ele não tem a melhor visão do mundo. Mas o envolvimento é inevitável e os dois cedem a este sentimento.

Lisa Marie Rice nos traz (mais uma vez) uma ótima história, com cenas de ação dignas de qualquer sucesso, além das passagens sensuais entre os personagens principais. Os coadjuvantes também têm a sua vez, John (suspiros), Douglas, Bud, Jacko, além de Suzanne, Allegra, Clarie e, é claro, Lauren tem importantes participações na história.

Só achei a cena onde descobrem, e consequentemente, o encontro com o vilão e o seu desfecho, muito rápidos.

Volto a frisar (como fiz na resenha de Breaking Danger) é uma pena que Lisa Marie Rice não seja publicada no Brasil. Quem lê apenas em português está perdendo a chance de conhecer uma ótima autora.

I received the ARC author of this story after attending the Book Tour Breaking Danger and I was glad to have on hand a chance to read another book by Lisa Marie Rice and my favorite series.

But, when Vania Nunes from The Butterfly Reads blog  invited me to join a new Book Tour of Lisa Marie Rice’s, I accepted.

Felicity Ward comes to Portland and intends enjoy of  life. For a long time she lived on the run and now sees the chance to enjoy a bit of life. The window-shopping with your purses, skirts, tshirts, fragances  and colors to enchant ... but a Russian accent and a knife in your back brings this down. She needs to get away again. But where?

Felicity the only solution is to go to Lauren's house (heroine of the book Midnight Vengeance). There she finds help of her friend, but also of Sean "Metal" O'Brien.

Metal is Jacko partner (hero of the book Midnight Vengeance) and also works on the Alpha Security International (belonging to John – book #1 Midnight Man book  and Douglas - book #3 Midnight Angel). Your nickname comes from the fact that after years of being SEAL (and doctor) in his body have more metal than bones.

When a beautiful woman falls into his arms he feels emerge as strong protective instinct he just wants to know to care for her, keep her safe and find out why wanting to kidnap her.

Felicity (which has been Alina Darin and Karyn Valk) is an expert in computers and programs and is part of the witness protection program, his parents (a physical and a biochemical) fled the Soviet Union, but they led to the United States a secret, a powerful nuclear weapon.

Throughout her life she fled the KGB (Russian secret police) and thought the nightmare was over, but she does not know Vladimir Borodin (former KGB colonel and now a major industrial) has other plans and it needs to find it.

While trying to find out who is wanting to kidnap, her Felicity and Metal are discovering. The two have difficult family stories, Metal lost his father and four brothers (on September 11, 2001) and his mother shortly afterwards, add to that the SEAL of life to know that he hasn’t the best view of the world. But the involvement is inevitable and the two give in to this feeling.

Lisa Marie Rice brings us (again) a great story, with decent action scenes of any successful, in addition to sexy passages between the main characters. The supporting cast also have their time, John (sighs), Douglas, Bud, Jacko, and Suzanne, Allegra, Clarie and, of course, Lauren has major holdings in history.

I just thought the scene where they discover, and consequently, the encounter with the villain and its outcome, very fast.

Again I point out (as I did in the review of Breaking Danger) is a pity that Lisa Marie Rice is not published in Brazil. Those who read only in Portuguese is losing the chance to meet a great author.
